The Ins and Outs of Prostate Milking or Prostate Massage

Although often thought of purely in terms of pleasure, prostate milking, which is also known as prostate massage, is frequently performed as a form of self-massage or by a doctor for medical reasons.

As part of the male reproductive system, one of the functions of the prostate gland is to produce a clear fluid that makes up about thirty percent of the male seminal fluid, and in cases of chronic prostatitis or benign prostatic hyperplasia, milking the prostate can be used to reduce pressure in the prostate gland by removing excess fluid.

Although it is possible to perform prostate milking externally by stimulating the prostate through the perineum, this method is not always successful and it is more common for prostate milking to be performed internally with a finger, prostate massager, or medical massager.

If you want to perform prostate milking yourself, you should proceed as follows:

1. Before attempting prostate milking, visit the bathroom to ensure that both the bladder and bowel are empty.

2. Make sure your fingernails are trimmed and your hands and the area around your anus are washed well.

3. Put a sterile latex glove on the hand you want to use to massage the prostate gland and apply a little water-based lubricant to the gloved fingers.

4. Take a comfortable position. The position you assume is not important as long as it is comfortable and allows easy access to the prostate gland with a gloved hand. Most people find that lying on their back or side is more comfortable.

5. Gently insert your finger (or fingers) into your anus and slowly move it forward along the wall of your rectum, as if toward your belly button, until you feel your prostate gland. The prostate will feel like part of a small ball and is usually about the size of a walnut.

6. Having located the prostate, gently massage along both sides but do not massage the central (top) area which contains various sensitive nerves.

7. After a few minutes of gentle milking, the glans will be sufficiently stimulated to contract and release its fluid. At this point, you may experience some degree of sexual pleasure, and in some cases, but not all, you may also experience orgasm.

Although prostate milking can be extremely useful as a form of preventative medicine and relieve seminal fluid buildup in the prostate, it is not without risk. As a result, prostate milking should not be done if you have an acute case of prostatitis and should never be done vigorously. If you are not sure whether or not it is safe to perform prostate milking, you should consult your doctor.
