Lucas’ career in acting began by accident in 1979 when a movie was shot on the coastal South Carolina island of Sullivan’s Island. He has appeared in several notable films including the sports drama Glory Road (2006) where he gained 40 pounds to play legendary basketball coach Don Haskins, the critically-acclaimed documentary Daydream Nation (2011), and as Charles Lindbergh in Clint Eastwood’s J Edgar (2013) and Australia’s box-office hit Red Dog (2011). Most recently, his senior film thesis project Treasures Beneath My Tree won top honors at this year’s Comic-Con International and is slated for upcoming festivals across the country and Europe.
