We recently heard that New York New York had opened on Hope Island and we were so excited because the reviews were incredible. My husband feels he is a bit of a food critic and claims to be victorious for finding the best steak in the world.

As an American-inspired tapas, bar, and steakhouse, we knew exactly what we were going to get, but we were lucky to be greeted with more.

The mark is a beautiful silhouette of the head of a long horn and is quite impressive being black on a lighter wood background. It almost seems marked. We arrived without a reservation and luckily they were able to accommodate us. The staff were extremely polite and friendly even though we went on a surprise visit.

The dining room is well lit without feeling too bright and it was relaxing from the moment we entered. They offered us water while we reviewed the extensive drink menu. There really was no need for us to search too long as we both found a drink and dinner and decided to skip the entrees.

I had prosciutto wrapped chicken that was crispy without being champagne dry. Bubbles are always a treat when I go out to eat. The veggies were amazing with truffle oil mashed potatoes, baby carrots, broccoli, and grilled corn on the cob. I chased him down with a classic New York cheesecake.

My husband devoured the wagyu rib eye, fries, baby carrots, and grilled corn. The ground pepper sauce on the side was apparently amazing, however I didn’t want to stop eating my food to test if I was right. I will take your word for it. Scott finished with a coffee cheesecake that lasted only a few seconds on the plate.

The staff offered suggestions when needed without being of the floating variety. They were extremely personable and managed to get to the table when we needed them. We also got to hear other diners comment on how great they were.

We were so busy loving everything that we didn’t look at the prices and came away with just under $ 120 for our bill, which was worth a lot more.

For me, dining out is the whole experience. I’m happy to announce that New York New York covered every part of the night and we were a little sad that we couldn’t sample more of the menu in one night. We will definitely be back.
