No matter what, no matter when, no matter who, any man has a chance to conquer any woman. He just needs the right broom.” That’s what the “Date Doctor” said in the movie “Hitch” starring Will Smith. The Date Doctor goes on to say that “women associate dancing with sex”.

Ever since the movie was released, I’ve been bombarded with emails asking if it’s true that women associate dancing with sex. I know other people have other opinions, but as for me and my household, we believe that many women judge a man’s sexual potential by his dance moves. With few exceptions, music touches women in a very deep and unique way: it awakens their soul. Dance, on the other hand, unlocks the playful and sensual side of her personality. And if men knew what a powerful aphrodisiac dancing is for women, they might not get the “I’m not in the mood” as often as they do.

Many of my girlfriends and women I have had the privilege to work with tell me that they can tell what kind of lover a man would be by the way he danced. They could tell if a man is a gamer, shy, inhibited or uninhibited, passionate or passive and yes, they could even tell if he is a drunk by looking at the way he moves his body on the dance floor. And when it comes to dating, these women say they want a man who is interested in more than just eating, working, and sleeping. They want a man who knows how to communicate his love potential and who knows how to move that sexual energy through his body. If you’ve seen Patrick Swayze on “Dirty Dancing,” then you know what I’m talking about. It is much more than “sexy dancing”, it is as if the man reached deep inside and then released that inner being in a sensual movement. He is helpful but playful. He is relaxed and effortless. Something in his body says “strong and tender, funny and frivolous”. It’s… it’s… how to put it? It gives a woman that “jolt” below the navel. And when a woman has tasted the pleasure of dancing in the arms of a good dancer, it is almost impossible to settle for less, unless she has an incredibly exciting career where they can experience unlimited financial freedom together or is amazing in bed or both of them!

Unfortunately, misperceptions that describe dance as effeminate keep many men from getting going. Some need a minimum of two drinks to get the courage to put themselves down. And when they hit the dance floor, their booze-assisted sense of adventure is a series of over-the-top theatrical gestures that are torture to watch.

Guys, if you don’t have unlimited cash flow or don’t exactly fall into the “amazing” category in bed, then a dance class should be your next stop. If you’ve got the moves already, show off that fancy footwork and I don’t mean those Tarzan ape mannerisms. Put a little grace on it. If you haven’t been to the gym lately and have accumulated a bit of excess or have a very slim build, don’t try belly dancing. Leave that to the coed high school dance floor. Unless of course your intention is to attract another man, then of course more power to you. But for the man who is more accepting of the masculine side of him, the wrists up, elbows against hips thing, no, don’t do that.

Dances like tango, salsa, and ballroom dancing are some of the most exciting and graceful dances out there, but they’re only good for you if you’re already in a relationship or have made a strong connection. And remember that first you have to say yes to “let’s dance”. To make sure she says yes, when you approach her, show her what you’ve got. No, please not that. Save that for another day, another place, and another time. I mean show him your moves. Ricky Martin-Usher-Omarion’s sexy dance moves around the groin can soar your imagination in a romantic and seductive way. If she’s on your wavelength, chances are she’ll get the message and smile back.
